Poethood Bio of Jaroslav Ryník

 Hello!

The songs by The Beatles have motivated me in learning English and thanks to my interest I learnt about haiku poetry. Making connections between these two worlds, I wrote the poem Pasttime, which is a part of the anthology Great Expectations: A Poethood Anthology edited by Mikko Jarvenpaa.

My latest poem is called A Lesson Learnt.

One of author's own favorites:

A Lesson Learnt

A lesson learnt

The Beafeater's sick
His Eye
's shut
Big Ben
's meek

He doesn't kick
so how can he score?

No wonder Abbey closed the door.

Without his glasses he can crack
let the trains, boats and planes

bring Abbey back

Sitting in Hyde Park
he finds his golden string:

the Babel mutering, ringing bells

The Eye gazing wide

the Thames busy streaming from side to side and...

A cigarette? Else
